Evangelical Presbyterian Church
World Outreach: ENGAGE 2025

The Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square has a long and rich history of displaying a heart for missions. PCKS actively supports global, national and local missions.

The goal of Engage 2025 is for each presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church to engage with a Muslim people group that currently has no churches and where no Jesus-followers are actively engaged in disciple-making. By sending a team of disciple-makers to them, the hope is to plant self-replicating Protestant Reformed churches in unreached communities by the year 2025.

The EPC Presbytery of the East (POTE), of which PCKS is a part, is working in the Northern Caucasus region of the Russian Federation.

Project resources will by used for the development of disciple-making teams
within presbyteries, research, training & coaching, and care for team members.

Creative Hands, Greece

Cecilia Sakatira

Ministry:
The year 2018 saw a major change in Cecilia’s life for which she had not planned,
but when she looks back, she says she can clearly see God’s hand in all the details, including the painful ones. It was a year of transitioning from leading Threads of Hope Hellas to a place of seeking to hear afresh from God what next He had for her. Through prayer, seeking counsel, and listening with anticipation, the Lord opened doors for her to work with Muslim women once again. “In ways that only God could orchestrate,” says Cecilia, “I got weaving looms from Finland and finances from generous donors which led to our opening a Weaving and Sewing Lab, where I teach 3 times a week, and then once a week at the
government run camp. It is an exciting new ministry we are developing and I
believe it is going to be used to bring healing, restoration, and redemption to the
women and their families.” Currently, Cecilia is applying for a Civil Company
Non-Profit status so that her students can supplement their incomes through the
goods they make. Besides teaching weaving and sewing, Cecilia is involved in a
small group Bible study with some of the refugee families, which allows her also
to participate in daily activities with them, build relationships and community, and helps to bridge the gaps that separate people. She says, “These are women that I long to call sisters, and I know one day they will come to the saving knowledge of Christ.” Your prayers and financial support are always greatly appreciated. If making a donation, please specify that it is for Cecilia Sakatira or Home Spot Lab.

Ministry:
The initiative for the establishment of Exarcheia Church, Athens, Greece originated from the First Evangelical Church of Athens in coordination with City to City Europe, a sister organization of Redeemer City to City in New York City, NY. By bringing the power of the gospel to every part of life, City to City focuses on church planting for the renewal of global cities. The Exarcheia Church was launched in 2013 and currently is led by Alexandros Pipilios, a graduate of Westminster Seminary in Glenside, PA.  Because the Exarcheia neighborhood has always been a place of revision and questioning of tradition, the church issues the challenge to “Rethink Christianity” without the oppression of tradition and the weight of legalism that usually dictate. PCKS is delighted to partner with Exarcheia Church in establishing a gospel-centered church in this strategic global city.

Kakamega, Kenya

Freedom International Ministries of Kenya

Reverend Hezron Okaba, the principal of Freedom International Ministries of Kenya, has planted over 80 churches and adult Bible schools in Kenya, Uganda,
Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, & DRC Congo over the years. He oversees and
supports the churches and schools with the help of his family, staff, pastors, and
congregations. In addition to the churches and Bible schools, Hezron and his
staff find loving families for orphaned children, placing them in the homes of
church members.

In Hezron's home base of Kakamega, Kenya, Hezron and his congregation
recently planted trees on the main grounds of Freedom International to produce
both crops for food and wooden poles to carry electricity. In addition, a new well
for freshwater was built. Both the electricity and water benefit the entire
community.

Currently, a new church and Bible training center are under construction and are
expected to be completed as soon as funds become available. There are dorms
on the property for people to stay in while attending training and Bible
conferences organized by Hezron.

Over the years, thousands of people have been touched by the gospel of Jesus
Christ through the God-honoring work of Freedom International Ministries.

Santhi Bhavan Mission, India

Ministry

Santhi Bhavan Mission (House of Peace) began as Ambika Chacko’s family project in her home village of Ezhumanthuruthu, Kerala, India. Ezhumanthuruthu is a poor, remote Hindu village in southwestern India. Before this ministry, the people in the village had no opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ambika’s family began to minister on vacations with Bible distributions, personal witness, educational assistance in the community school, and by providing free medical clinics with evangelical meetings for the village through HMI, a well-known, highly respected evangelical doctor’s organization in India. The humanitarian aid opened the door to share the gospel.

Today there is a mission house in the community that is a base of Christian witness and outreach. There is a national Christian worker who has become a leader in the ministry and is able to provide on-site guidance and assistance. Educational assistance is also provided to fund the salary of a kindergarten teacher and assistant (also believers) in support of the kindergarten program. A Christmas luncheon has become an annual event, and distribution of school supplies happens during mission trip visits. Medical clinics through HMI continue and a doctor visits the village two to three times a month. In addition, an outside bathroom is under construction to support these visits.

The mission has a goal of purchasing land and building a preschool, in addition to opening a pharmacy in the community as people must travel a distance for even the simplest of medical supplies. Future mission trips are also desired to build stronger, deeper relationships within the community. Please pray that the family of God may expand through these efforts.
